Tips to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Getting the best value:
- Booking in the Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
How to select the perfect vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your dates, and choose a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. 4th Flr Seaside Retreat:1 BR K Suite Ocean View has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the host before booking your rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is best for your vacation.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- During check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of issues.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would back home.
- On check-out day, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a excellent time? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
