Tips to get the best vacation home experience:
Get the best rental home value:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer promotional rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers often offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Finding the perfect rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- To start, have your family decide on trip dates and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. 5BR Ocean Lakes w Ocean View! 1 min walk to pool & beach! Linen incld. Golf Car has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible online. If they are not listed, call the property manager before you book the home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Be respectful. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to compel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
