Booking the best rental experience:

Find your perfect rental:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Some property management companies offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Make a plan and choose the rightrental home:

  • First and foremost, have your family agree to dates and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. 6th-floor studio with AC, pool, & hot tub has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before you reserve the property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is optimal for your trip.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental

Know before you go:

  • Add the owner's contact info to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many concerns.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • To make sure no damages are linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the rental manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to compel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
