Tips and Tricks to get the optimal Myrtle Beach rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
How to pick the perfect vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- First, have your family commit to vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. 7th-floor oceanfront studio with pool, hot tub, & AC has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If not, email the property manager before reserving your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is best for your family.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you are enamored with, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
Know before you go:
- Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- Document any issues with the property at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if there is a dispute.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on great ratings to stimulate future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
