Getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the best value, try changing your family's Myrtle Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have money saving offers on local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Select your vacation dates and max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. 8th-floor oceanfront snowbird-friendly condo with W\/D, pool, & hot tub has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property owner before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is best for your group.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or could be applied to your invoice.
- Does your group require particular amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
Some things to know before you go:
- Get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
- Note any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a wonderful stay? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
