Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental home tips:
Finding your perfect rental:
- To find the best vacation home for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions.
- The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have discounts for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Planning and picking the bestrental:
- Select vacation week and budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. A311 at the Myrtle Beach Resort: Peaceful Retreat has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. If not, call the property manager before you book your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out which bed configuration is best for your vacation family.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
Have a great stay:
- Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Document any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if a dispute is filed.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
