Our top Rental home tips and tricks:

Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To find the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Make a plan and pick the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:

  • Start by having your group select vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Across from the Beach! A water view at Mariner's Cove, 2 BR, 2 BA - 1st Floor has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the host before booking the rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or charges may be applied to your agreement.
  • If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you simply love, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the host right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a great stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
