Booking the best vacation home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in the Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Selecting the best rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your dates, and choose a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Amazing Oceanfront Views from this 5 Bedroom Condo Unit 1207 has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before reserving the rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or costs applied to your invoice.
Considerations for your stay:
- Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- To make sure that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
- On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a great time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
