Tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property management companies often offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to choose the best rental in Myrtle Beach:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Wyndham SeaWatch
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before booking the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • Is your family looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental

Tips to have a fantastic stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Note any damages to the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if there is a dispute.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected everything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on great feedback to compel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
