Tricks and tips to get the very best vacation property experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To find the best value, change your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to pick the best rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and select a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Amazing Views--Direct Oceanfront..Family Resort--New Flooring, Couch and Paint has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking pages. If not, email the property management company before you book the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you simply love, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or costs might be applied to your agreement.
More considerations:
- Add the owner's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- At Check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would at home.
- On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
