Myrtle Beach rental home tips:
Get the best rental home value:
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your Myrtle Beach rental in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides contain discounts for nearby tours and attractions.
Planning and picking the perfectvacation home:
- Select vacation week and spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Arcadian I Unit 6D - Oceanfront! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before you book the property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to establish which bed configuration is best for your family.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Considerations for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to propel more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
