Tricks and tips to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your vacation home in the Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain money saving offers on nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Make a plan and pick the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Begin by selecting potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Awesome Ocean view Condo 2 blocks from the Beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
- If your group is traveling with pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
Tips to have a smooth stay:
- We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Upon check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your life at home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect your property!
- Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a fantastic stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
