Vacation rental home tips and tricks:
Getting the most from your budget:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, try changing your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, , and reduced traffic.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Planning, picking, and booking your prefect Myrtle Beach rental:
- Start by selecting your the best vacation week and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Bay View Resort - 15th Floor Two Balcony's with Ocean View has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the host before reserving the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if a dispute arises.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a fantastic stay? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
