How to get the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Filter your search:

  • First and foremost, have your group agree to vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Beach Dreams - cozy main level suite 6 guests-2 bedrooms-3 beds-1 bath has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before reserving the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what is right for your vacation group.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs applied to your invoice.
  • Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.

Additional considerations:

  • Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of problems.
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Upon check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to compel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
