Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have offers and deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Choosing and booking yourrental:

  • First and foremost, have your group agree to trip dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Oceanfront Efficiency T109 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the host before booking the vacation property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you are enamored with, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges could be applied to your contract.

Tips for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
  • Upon check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a fantastic stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
