Strategies to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Summer is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Filter your search:
- Choose a group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. T1105 at the Myrtle Beach Resort has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property owner before you book the home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what is best for your vacation group.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
More considerations:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few problems.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would back home.
- Record any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if there is a dispute.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
