Tricks and tips to get the perfect rental experience:

Getting the best rental home value:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the most suitable rental within budget, we highly recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites often offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Selecting the perfect rental home in Myrtle Beach:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Beautiful home minutes from the beach and Ocean Lakes Water Park has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible online. Otherwise, call the property owner before you book your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish which bed configuration is optimal for your family.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.

Additional considerations:

  • Add the property manager's information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • Upon check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a great resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to drive more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
