Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:

Get the most from your rental home budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property managers often offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain deals for nearby tours and attractions.

Choosing and booking the perfectrental:

  • First and foremost, have your family commit to the best dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Beautiful home minutes from the beach and Ocean Lakes Water Park has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the host before you book your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
  • If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

Tips for a smooth stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • During check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few problems.
  • Be a good neighbor. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental while you are away. Protect your property!
  • On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to compel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
