Our top Rental booking tips and tricks:

When to visit & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • Book your rental property in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Some owners offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Planning and choosing the best Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • Choose vacation week and maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Beautiful home minutes from the beach and Ocean Lakes Water Park has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before you book the home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs could be applied to your contract.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your stay, record any problem areas upon check in. message the rental manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected everything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a fantastic time? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
