Our top Myrtle Beach rental booking tips and tricks:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking in Fall or Spring months is a great way to save on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides have coupons for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Selecting and booking the perfect Myrtle Beach rental:
- Start by choosing your trip dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Oceanfront! Prime Location! King Bed! On Ocean Boulevard! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before you reserve your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you long to visit, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many difficulties.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would at home.
- To make certain that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. text the property manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to stimulate new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
