How to book the best rental experience:
Getting the best rental home value:
- To find the best rental for your budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain offers and deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Selecting the best rental home:
- Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and select a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. March Spring Break Special! Sea Glass Tower on the beach, steps from the city. has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible online. If not, email or call the host before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you long to visit, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs may be applied to your contract.
More considerations:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Make a record of any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if there is a dispute.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
