Tricks and tips to get the optimal vacation property experience:

Getting the best rental home value:

  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • To get the best value, try changing your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for local tours and attractions.

How to select the best rental in Myrtle Beach:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. March Spring Break Special! Sea Glass Tower on the beach, steps from the city. has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the host before you book the home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what is best for your vacation family.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Advice for a terrific stay:

  • We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many issues.
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
  • To make certain that no damages are attributed to your stay, record any problem areas during arrival. Contact the property manager right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a fantastic stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
