Tips for getting the best rental home experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To find the best value, try shifting your family's Myrtle Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, , and reduced traffic.
- Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning, selecting, and booking the perfectrental:
- Begin by choosing the best vacation week and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Birdie's Beachfront I - The only Oceanfront Condo to be at Myrtle Beach Resort has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your family is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Upon check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a great time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
