How to find the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, consider changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers frequently offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which often include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Start by choosing your trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. OCEANFRONT 2 BR Condo!! Incredible views! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property owner before you reserve the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what is optimal for your vacation group.
  • Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or costs might be applied to your invoice.

Have a great stay:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Upon check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peace. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a wonderful time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
