Rental home tips:
When to book & When to go:
- Reserve your rental home in Fall or Spring months to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have deals for nearby shops and restaurants.
How to pick the best vacation rental:
- Select vacation week and maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Bright & Cozy Hideaway has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often available online. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before booking your home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out which bed configuration is best for your vacation.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you love, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Upon check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good feedback to drive more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
