Tricks and tips to get the optimal vacation property experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To book the largest vacation home within budget, we suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides have discounts for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Finding the perfect vacation rental:
- Begin by selecting a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Four 2BR\/2BA Villas has 12 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before you book your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what is optimal for your vacation family.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you love, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or might be applied to your contract.
Some things to know before you go:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Note any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
