Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Sticking to your rental home budget:
- To get the best value, shift your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts offer special rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Start by selecting your vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Caravelle Resort Ocean View Suite - Double rooms has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property owner before you reserve the rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine which bed configuration is best for your trip.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To make certain no damages are linked to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. message the property manager right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to drive future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
