How to book the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, change your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Some property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have money saving offers on nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Make a plan and choose your Myrtle Beach rental:
- First and foremost, have your group commit to vacation dates and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Charming 4-bedroom Myrtle Beach Home ~ Ocean View, Wi-Fi, Pool, & More! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the host before you reserve your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Know before you go:
- Get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
- Record any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
