Tips to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:

Getting the most from your spending budget:

  • The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, try shifting your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides contain money saving offers on local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Select vacation week and maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Chic and Charming 1BR Oceanview Suite has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available online. Otherwise, contact the property manager before you reserve your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.

Know before you go:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, record any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the property manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a excellent vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
