Rental home booking tips and tricks:
Getting the best rental value:
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. To book the most suitable rental home within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which often include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Filter your rental search:
- Start by choosing your the best vacation week and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. chill pill has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly available online. If they are not listed, email or call the host before booking the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
During your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
- Upon arrival, note any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
- At departure, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a great time? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
