Tricks and tips to get the best vacation home experience:
Sticking to your budget:
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your vacation home in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes.
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides contain coupons for nearby accommodations and attractions.
How to choose and book the right Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Select a group leader, select your dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Coastal Comforts Suite: Beachfront Escape has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking pages. If not, email the property management company before you reserve the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Know before you go:
- Add the host's contact info to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- During check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
- Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a fantastic time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
