How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Sticking to a spending budget:
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the largest rental home for your budget, we suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Choose a group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Come to Myrtle Beach! 3 Bedroom house - steps to beach with pool! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking websites. If not, email or call the property manager before booking your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your trip.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- To make certain damages aren't linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the host immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to propel more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
