Tricks and tips to get the perfect vacation home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best rental home within your budget, we suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property management companies sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on local tours, shops, and attractions.

Additional considerations:
- Get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your visit, note any problem areas upon check in. message the rental manager right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.

- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- At departure, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to compel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review.
