Vacation rental booking tips:
Sticking to a spending budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties.
- The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to select the best vacation rental:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. 70 STEPS AND YOU ARE AT THE BEACH! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before booking your home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you long to visit, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Know before you go:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
- At Check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your peace. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and look for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a excellent time? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
