How to find the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Book your Myrtle Beach rental property in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have coupons for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Filter your search:
- Begin by selecting trip dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. Condo on IntraCoastal Waterway- Pool, Near Golf, Near Beach, Balcony, Pup Ok! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking websites. If not, reach out to the host before you reserve your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what is best for your family.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs might be applied to your agreement.
More tips for your visit:
- Add the host's contact information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Make a record of any issues with the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute arises.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to stimulate new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
