Booking the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Getting the most from your budget:
- The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain discounts for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Planning, selecting, and booking your prefect Myrtle Beach rental:
- Select dates and budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Cozy 2-bedroom dog friendly townhome in Myrtle Beach, walking distance to beach has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible online. If not, contact the host before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or might be applied to your contract.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
Tips for your stay:
- Add the owner's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
- During check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a wonderful time? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
