Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Find your perfect rental:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, consider changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer great weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Some owners offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Filter your search:
- Start by having your family choose dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Renovated, 2 Bdr 2 Ba, in Ocean Lakes Family Campground has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the host before reserving the property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your family.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
During your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many problems.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Upon check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a terrific vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
