Tips to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

Get the most from your spending budget:

  • Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is an excellent way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to select the best vacation rental:

  • Start by having your group choose the best dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. LakeViews-Quaint/Quiet-Walk 2 Beach-Kingston Plantation-Gated Community has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before booking the home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what configuration is right for your vacation.
  • Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, note any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the host right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
  • Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to drive new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
