Myrtle Beach rental booking tips and tricks:
Cost saving strategies:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To find the best value, shift your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning, picking, and booking the rightrental home:
- First, have your group agree to trip dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Oceanfront_Stylish-Striking -Just Remodeled-Family building with a Pool & Tennis has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available online. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before you book the property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what is best for your trip.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Does your group require unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
Know before you go:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Upon arrival, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be respectful. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected everything. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a fantastic time? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
