Tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:

Finding the best value:

  • To find the best value, shift your vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property managers sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Narrow your Search:

  • First, have your family select trip dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Charming Shore Drive Condo with Stunning Ocean Views steps from Ocean Annies! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property management company before booking the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what is suitable for your family.
  • If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you love, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
  • Upon check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few issues.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
  • Upon check-out, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a great stay? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
