Tips and Tricks to get the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Find your perfect rental home:
- To find the best value, consider shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have coupons for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Begin by selecting trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Cozy Ocean View 1 Bedroom Condo - Palace Resort Unit 510 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to determine which bed configuration is best for your vacation family.
- Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
During your stay:
- Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- Record any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
- On check-out day, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on good ratings to inspire more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
