Our top Rental property booking tips:
How to get the best rental home value:
- To find the best value, shift your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Finding the best rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by choosing your vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Denny Cove, NEW 2023 BUILD, 3 Bdr 2 Ba in Ocean Lakes has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before you book the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
- Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Advice for a great stay:
- Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- To make certain damages are not linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a wonderful time? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
