Our top Vacation rental home tips:

When to visit & When to book:

  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Reserve your rental property in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines that include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Direct Oceanfront condo with full access to all resort amenities!! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before reserving the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is suitable for your vacation.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.

More tips for your stay:

  • We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of concerns.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
  • To make certain that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the property manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
