Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
When to book & When to go:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To get the best rental home for your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides have offers and deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Selecting the best rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by having your group choose date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Direct Oceanfront in the Heart of Myrtle Beach! Amazing views! Atlantica PH55 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available online. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before booking the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
Tips for a fantastic stay:
- Add the owner's phone number to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- Record any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic resource to find the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- At departure, take a walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to propel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
