Vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

Getting the most from your rental home budget:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the largest vacation home within budget, we suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning, selecting, and booking the right Myrtle Beach vacation home:

  • Start by selecting potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Executive Suite w/ Great Oceanfront View + Official On-Site Rental Privileges has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or applied to your contract.
  • Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

Some things to know before you go:

  • Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect your property!
  • At Check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to drive future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
