Tips to get the best vacation property experience:
Find your best deal:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your vacation rental in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Owners sometimes offer special rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides have money saving offers on nearby tours and attractions.
Narrow your rental Search:
- First and foremost, have your group select trip dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. First Floor 2 Bedroom Condo with Golf Course Views-Magnolia Place 101 - Sleeps 6 guests! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before reserving your rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is optimal for your vacation family.
- If your group is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Get information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Does your family require special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
Some things to know before you go:
- Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- Upon arrival, note any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to propel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
