Strategies to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Getting the best rental home value:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the best value, try changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, , and reduced traffic.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which often include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- To start, have your group commit to dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Magnificent Caravelle Resort Ocean View Suite - Double Room has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the host before you book the property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Does your group require particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
Know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental while you're away. Protect your property!
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas upon check in. Call the host immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
