Myrtle Beach vacation rental home tips:
Money saving strategies:
- The sooner you can book, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. To book the largest vacation home within budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines that include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Filter your search:
- Begin by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Beautiful Caravelle Resort Suite with direct sea views has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property manager before booking the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what configuration is right for your vacation group.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Does your group require specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
Additional considerations:
- Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Make a record of any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if a dispute is filed.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to inspire more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
