Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:

Find your perfect rental home:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, try changing your family's Myrtle Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain deals for local accommodations and attractions.

How to select the perfect vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Beautiful Caravelle Resort Suite with direct sea views has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what configuration is right for your family.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.

During your stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas during check in. Call the rental manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to drive new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
