Tips and Tricks to get the perfect vacation home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- To get the best value, try shifting your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great weather, , and reduced traffic.
- The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Some hosts offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides contain offers and deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
How to choose and book your Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Choose your dates and budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Gorgeous View - Myrtle Beach Resort \nVilla 311 Bldg B has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property owner before you reserve the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what bed configuration is optimal for your family.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs might be applied to your contract.
Additional considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. Speak to the property manager immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to drive future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
