Tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Find your perfect rental:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, consider changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Make a plan and choose a perfectvacation home:
- Select vacation dates and spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Grand 2-Bedroom Condo in Myrtle Beach! Sleeps 8! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking websites. Otherwise, call the host before you reserve the home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you love, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
During your stay:
- Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Upon arrival, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Be respectful. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- At departure, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
