Rental home booking tips:

When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:

  • The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby shops and restaurants.

How to pick the best vacation home in Myrtle Beach:

  • Select a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Harbour Lights™ - 2 Bedroom Combined has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible online. If not, email the property management company before reserving the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is best for your vacation.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or costs might be applied to your invoice.
  • Does your family require specific amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental

Advice for a smooth stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • To make sure that no damages are attributed to your visit, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. text the rental manager immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a terrific time? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
