Myrtle Beach rental booking tips and tricks:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a rental home:
- Summer is the most expensive season in coastal SC. Book your rental home in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides have offers and deals for local shops and restaurants.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Choose vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Harbour Lights™ - Hotel has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the property owner before booking the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what configuration is right for your group.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Upon arrival, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many difficulties.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect your property!
- Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
