Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips:
Money saving strategies:
- Summer is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the largest rental home within budget, we recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to pick the best rental in Myrtle Beach:
- First, have your family select trip dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. High-Five to Luxury Oceanfront 5th Floor 3 Bedroom has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property management company before you reserve your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is best for your family.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
Have a great stay:
- Add the host's contact information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Record any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
